GE Optima MRI MR450W GEM Patient Table – Insurance Claim

M7000ZM  w/1.5T GEM HNU FRU PA Posterior Array Coil
Unit exposed to light water from leaking overhead pipe

It is our understanding:  The table was in working condition when removed from service.  The table got wet from water from a broken pipe in the ceiling. The only known issue with the table is the IntelliTouch Control on the right side to landmark the table.  The HNU PA Coil is installed within the table.

From GE technician (updated 11-4-13):
Water from ceiling was splashed on table (read not doused in water).
That same day the unit was dried by hospital technical staff.
Next few days GE Technical staff disassembled entire table, dried out all components and did inspection (ref photo below).
PA Posterior Array Coil was tested and confirmed undamaged.
Lower table experienced nominal if any moisture and was confirmed unaffected.
Table was ordered replaced as it was under GE Warranty and essentially in near new condition so out of an abundance of caution in step with their warranty agreement.
Table remained in use without incident until replacement table arrived for over a month without incident.
Only known defect is right side IntelliTouch control used to landmark the table.

Inspection Urged – located at North Charleston, South Carolina - by appointment.
